چکیده
Abstract Jellyfish are important components of the marine ecosystem and present a potential resource for different economic domains (e.g. medicine, food biotechnology). We an overview current state jellyfish biodiversity in Macaronesia region, which includes archipelagos Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands Cape Verde, examine possible biogeography patterns among its archipelagos. Based on comprehensive literature survey, historical records, richness estimation biogeographical distribution, our search included organisms belonging to Scyphozoa, Hydrozoa (strictly benthic species excluded) Ctenophora. Our detected 229 species, with dominance holoplankton likely reflecting insular coastal morphology Differences richness, endemism affinities found between Verde island systems. Shared trend holoplanktonic hydrozoans, while second most speciose taxa (Scyphozoa Ctenophore) vary While widespread distributed predominate area, strict suggests pattern spatial distribution jellyfish, dividing into two biogeographic units: (i) Azores-Madeira-Canary temperate subtropical and/or tropical (ii) strictly

Disentangling the genetic and morphological structure of Patella candei complex in Macaronesia (NE Atlantic)
The uptake of natural living resources for human consumption has triggered serious changes in the balance of ecosystems. In the archipelagos of Macaronesia (NE Atlantic), limpets have been extensively exploited probably since islands were first colonized. This has led to profound consequences in the dynamics of rocky shore communities. The Patella candei complex includes various subspecies of l...
متن کاملpatterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment
although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...
Phylogeography of a Marine Insular Endemic in the Atlantic Macaronesia: The Azorean Barnacle, Megabalanus azoricus (Pilsbry, 1916)
The Azorean barnacle, Megabalanus azoricus (Pilsbry, 1916), is a Macaronesian endemic whose obscure taxonomy and the unknown relationships among forms inhabiting isolated Northern Atlantic oceanic islands is investigated by means of molecular analysis herein. Mitochondrial data from the 16S rRNA and COX1 genes support its current species status, tropical ancestry, and the taxonomic homogeneity ...
